The role 👩‍💻

You will join the data team with a mission to rapidly increase the data maturity of JUNI to a transformed organization where comprehensive data is used widely and easily by all teams. As a data engineer you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the infrastructure, pipelines and integrations that support our org. Together, with our data scientists optimize for reliability and confidence in data to support our business objectives.



Your responsibilities ⭐️

In this role you’ll be:

  • Writing scalable, robust and testable batch and streaming transformations
  • Take lead in architectural and design decisions, building toward an efficient data platform to support a data mesh organization
  • Identifying, evaluating and implementing new data management tools
  • Translating software requirements into stable, working, high-performance software

Within 1 month you'll:

  • Introduce an important architectural improvement to our platform codebase
  • Fix two thorny unfixed bugs, which the team otherwise could not have done

Within 3 months you'll:

  • Help data scientists within team say they’re learning a lot and are more productive because of you
  • Have helped us build new features quicker than we otherwise would have - our velocity has increased significantly

Within 6 months you'll:

  • Help introduce significant new features which radically improve our platform.
  • Impact the quality of the platform, getting to the point where we fix all bugs and are improving performance metrics
  • Be proud of the platform and its codebase

Our Stack 🛠

We are mostly programming in Python, Java and Golang and we are building our data platform on top of Google Cloud and AWS.

Your qualifications  👑

What we need to see:

  • Solid experience in writing SQL, Python and a JVM based language
  • Experience with working within a cloud with preference for Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience of ETL/reverse ETL
  • Experience of setting up environments using infrastructure-as-code
  • Solid experience of working with WFM software such as AirFlow, KubeFlow etc.
  • Stellar communication skills in English

  • Strong knowledge of data observability
