What You’ll Be Doing
This role is responsible for one of our key strategic pillars for SPP Canada: to create and grow a brand-new line of business at www.staplespromo.ca. This position is accountable for driving revenue, managing expenses and overall P&L for this area of the business. This leader will have responsibility for strategic planning to drive eCommerce growth. This position will optimize the tech roadmap, including evolving functionality and UX, for the Canadian market. They will be responsible for digital direct response marketing (inclusive of developing strategic direction and managing a 3rd party ad agency, as well as media budget). Finally, this position will oversee and optimize all aspects of our website's eCommerce operations and experience, including the creation and maintenance of website content, product mix and merchandising.

  • Revenue, expense, forecasting & P&L management FOR www.staplespromo.ca
  • Develop growth targets, strategies for achieving them and lead cross-functional teams by driving excellence in execution.
  • Architect of the Staples Promotional Products Canada online customer experience.
  • Work with US eComm team to develop the strategic e-Commerce roadmap and optimize all strategies to drive success in the Canadian marketplace.
  • Develop and oversee execution of the digital direct response marketing plan; accountable for revenue targets and ROAS metrics.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the eCommerce website, ensuring optimal efficiency.
  • Continuously optimize the user experience on the website to improve conversion rates, customer satisfaction, and overall online performance.
  • Plan and execute effective digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media advertising, and affiliate marketing, to drive traffic and increase sales.
  • Monitor and analyze key eCommerce metrics, such as traffic, conversion rates, average order value, and customer lifetime value, using analytics tools. Prepare regular reports and provide actionable insights to drive performance improvements.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis to identify market trends, benchmark against industry leaders, and implement best practices to enhance the website's performance.
  • Collaborate with IT and third-party vendors as needed to maintain and optimize the eCommerce platform.
  • Partner with Sales Operations team to streamline processes, and drive efficiencies in order processing.
  • Team Leadership: recruit, hire manage, motivate, and grow a team of direct reports to support in delivering upon the accountabilities above.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on driving results.
  • Highly adept with eCommerce platforms and tools.
  • Proficiency in website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), A/B testing and data-driven decision making.
  • Proven track record with digital marketing: SEM, SEO, email, social, affiliate, etc.
  • Strong leadership skills – effectively hire, manage, motivate and coach/mentor eCommerce team.
  • Set tone for eCommerce department – drive innovation; effective communication; clear roadblocks; maintain positive environment in high-paced / stressful environment.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage to tight deadlines with conflicting priorities and enable team to do the same.
  • Display strong project management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise direction.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment and stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications

What’s needed- Qualifications

  • 6+ years of digital marketing or eCommerce experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience. (preferred)
